This Buy It Now listing is for a lot of 50 Prayer Cards of the Holy Face of Jesus. I am also running listings for Spanish language versions of them in lots of 50, as well as versions in both languages in lots of 25 cards and 100 cards (Please see “See other items”). I am selling these holy cards at no profit to encourage people to participate in spreading this wonderful devotion to the Holy Face of Our Lord. The price per card goes down slightly with the larger lots because my total cost for the packaging and shipping stays the same whether I’m shipping 25, 50 or 100 cards, so it gets spread out over more cards. If you want, say, 100 cards, please go to the 100-card listing, because if you order two sets of 50 cards instead, the system will automatically charge you for shipping twice. Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus goes back many centuries, but in the mid-1800s a Carmelite nun in France named Sister Marie St. Pierre (Sr. Mary of St. Peter) received revelations from Jesus about His wish that the Devotion to His Holy Face be spread worldwide. He even dictated special prayers to her that He wished people to say and offer to the Father along with His Holy Face, in reparation for the sins of the modern era. These revelations and prayers have received Church approval. Two of those prayers appear on the back of these prayer cards, along with a 1954 imprimatur from Cardinal Spellman. (The Spanish language version doesn’t bear an imprimatur because it was never approved word-per-word in Spanish, although the translation was worked on by a priest whose primary language is Spanish.)  Pope Leo XIII approved a worldwide Archconfraternity of the Holy Face in 1885. It is still active today, headquartered in Tours, France.
It is very important that as many people as possible make reparation to God for their sins and the sins of all, offering it in union with the infinite merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ. God has become extremely displeased with the human race, and in many apparitions Our Lady has spoken of a terrible chastisement which will befall us if people do not repent and do penance. It appears that we may well already be in the opening stages of that chastisement, which threatens to become much more severe. Promoting this devotion is a good step in the right direction. And of course, the daily Rosary is indispensable.
The image on the front of these cards is from Veronica’s Veil, the veil from the 6th Station of the Cross, in which a pious woman wiped Our Lord’s Face, covered in His Precious Blood, sweat and spittle, as He carried His Cross to be crucified for us. The image of His Face was imprinted onto the cloth. That cloth is still kept in St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, and although the image has over time become dark and indistinct on January 6, 1849, the veil miraculously glowed and showed the Holy Face very clearly for several hours. Artists recorded the miraculous image in great detail, and thereafter until the early 20th century, several copies of the engravings were issued by the Vatican once a year. Before being distributed, each copy of the image from Veronica’s Veil was touched to the actual veil itself, a piece of the True Cross, and the lance that pierced Our Lord’s side. The image on the front of these prayer cards is a reproduction of a Vatican-issued engraving owned by Leo Dupont, the “Apostle of the Holy Face.” Many miracles were reported in connection with it.
